Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Foxing yesterday at a place that keeps a few dozen free rangers and i got lucky .As i looked over the hedge to the chicken pen ,cheeky old charlie was inside the electric fence and making towards the chooks .He saw me and was gone ,over the fence and down to the lower fields .I followed with little chance of seeing him again or so i thought .He was out in the middle of a field with the sun on him and what a picture .Got tucked into the hedge and gave a squeak to which he responded immediately ,running in fsat .I shot him on the run ,head on .Took him up to show the farmer that something was being done . Then on to another spot where the farmers daughter lost her pet rabbit to charlie a while back .Walked the whole farm and was just coming up the hill back to the truck when the crows started kicking up and i knew charlie was abroad .Same again ,back to a hedge and squeaked.A head appeared through a gap in the far hedge and then he was trotting in fast.Shot this one on the move as well as he wasnt stopping either .Both shot at around 20 yards . You can see where this one skidded to a halt when shot . Quote Link to post

Colster 1
Nice work, sounds like a good way to spend the day to me What rifle? Quote Link to post
Finkley 1
Top work all round, especially the shooting. Sometimes harder at 20yds than 40 or 50 when they're running. Do you have adjustable magnification? I doubt you'd of had much time to fiddle with it anyway. Good post, cheers. Quote Link to post

Cant beat the daytime foxing , wish they called as well up here mate...... I dont even bother trying to call now as its a total waste of time but i have called one by clucking like a chicken. What time of day was it foxdropper? Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Another good session. With regard to the calling, I had noticed myself when we were out they seemed to respond well to the call down your way, definately better than round here. So you are either good at it, or you have some impressionable foxes, probably a bit of both... but mainly the first! I get the odd one that charges at me, and those that just turn and leg it big time..., then a few you just hold their attention..hopefully long enough to nail! Quote Link to post
