Guest MOLLY
By nighttimenellie Tried my 1st nights lamping were i now live. The farmer is very happy for me to take care of the bunnies and im lucky enough it's straight out of my door into the fields. Only problem is ive seen very few rabbits. Anyways, i went into a field i know there to be rabbits just for a quick hour out, at the very bottom of the field i was disapointed to only see one baby rabbit. So started to walk back an spotted one further back into the field, lamped that it gave Khan a good run but he missed it, they have obviously never been lamped because there were times they could have easily gotten into the fences but were panicking. Then i spotted another one as i lamped this one i saw another 3...BRILL he caught this one then missed another sat out with yet another 3. I looked over the fence into another field. Spotted about 6 together out in this one...lamped one and he missed that, the others ran for cover. So cutting it short there are more rabbits than i thought there were, but they all sat out in groups tonight. But he ran like a labrador and turned like a sherman tank! He was in terrible form tonight, probably because at the start of the night he chased something he shouldnt on the way to the field, when i realised and switched the lamp off he disapeared into the darkness for a while and came back knackered (more work needed on returning when the lamp goes out!). Plus for all it is windy it is very warm. His retrieving was much better though, as was his returning after missing the rabbits. Now im finding my feet here, it will be little but often, you get a better opportunity to train your dog more when you are out alone, your not spoiling it for someone else if things go wrong or you have to do things differently. for all it was only one out of four im still proud of how my little brain dead numpty nuts is coming along MOLL.
