flint67 2
i never said i hunt one for the pot , never have , far from it. Back when i was younger it was nothing to have 10 or 15 deer hanging in my barns , i would take a couple of dogs out at 10or 11oclock , run them slip for slip single handed , take them home and often take 2 more out at 2ish , we would have all dogs kennelled by dawn and go out in a box van to pick everything up from the roadside , i had a landy winch bolted behind the seats and winched them all up a makeshift ramp into the van. None of the stories of "poaching gangs" were down to me , because i never left a trace of where id been and never ever left a deer behind . I respect the dogs , the land , and the prey and equally as important . . .now read this bit timmy . . . Equally as important i know that in all those years , noone , and i mean NOONE ever got nicked or had their dogs took away , because i made their hunting ground "on top" . Maybe you can say the same , i hope so , you say youve been down here and seen the black dog fields , i dont doubt it , they attract poachers like bees round honey . This county is right on top as others have already said , and to operate here successfully for this long , is not just luck. I respect you for coming on here and defending your position with regards leaving deer , threads like this can be read by young uns , and help them shape their future in hunting. Lets not get personal and abusive , and just agree to disagree atb flint (the divvy) Quote Link to post
