Its a sad affair that things like this go on when its so unneccesary.

Alot of it is, in my eyes, about respect. Dumping of game for whatever reason is disrespectfull to the sport, to yourself and most importantly to the quarry.

The people who do this are not sportsmen, and never will be because they have the wrong attitude. It doesnt matter if you stay in london, or on a perthshire hillside, if you have the wrong attitude, you give the sport a bad name.

I live in the town myself, but i do everything i can to avoid shit like this.

The peole who drive halfway across the country, fu ck the place up and leave dead game are the same peole who peddle shit dogs, pump out pups and are all about numbers, not sport.

Dont really know what else to say, its not a big problem in my area, we were brought up to reapect the ground and respect our quary.

The old saying is true, 'you cant expect anything more from a sow than a grunt'. Meaning you cant educate mud.

dave , i cant speak for anyone else but my personal view regarding the hunting act , and every other law for that matter , is . . .for me it is not about keeping within the law, it is about doing what is right , in all aspects of life. It is about your own personal moral compass , i have hunted the same way for decades , i make my own decisions and they are not clouded by the views of others ,be they peoples opinions or laws. I try to do what is right or at least not to do what is wrong. If there were no laws in this country i would continue the same , i would not burgle peoples houses or steal their cars , my view is its about right and wrong not legal and illegal and thats how i view hunting

:notworthy: Now there is probably the best responce on this post.

Dave yes i probably do break the law, on a daily basis. i do 31mph in a 30. I walk my dogs off the lead in a public place, i express my opinion and follow my own morals as flint has described above. Its a sad state of affairs really when laws overrules morals. Such as in the case of having to sometimes dump game. But i will never ever let it effect me to a point where i am as conformed as you and try to play whiter than white.

Dave are you a copper, do you work for the RSPCA? Or do you just think you one above the rest of us? Theres definatly something about you.

ian , you know as well as i do that this is not anti propaganda , its been going on round here for as long as i can remember all the famous places are hot and this is why . . .and they are all a few minutes from police hq , any turning off that roundabout is sika heaven. Leaving deer behind is disgraceful and it happens all too often ,we all know how hard it is dragging sika stags 3 or 400yards , but it has to be done , you dont break gates and drive to get them and you dont leave them behind with their antlers cut off . . Remember the jam sandwiches in the road and shot stags with no antlers? Im sure we get the same papers. Who do i run with ?noone ,not since about 88 or 89 ,before that? I knew em all.

we have had a few stags with there heads cut off and ive even found them when ive been out. every one round here knows who it was in the end he moved somewhere else they used to do it just for fun of it, it was alright back in 88 or 89 because every one use to sell them i remember back then bumping into over people doing the same thing you could see up to 5 different gangs out in a night now they are hard to sell so you do get afew that go out and kill them and leave where they are and cant be bothered to even hide them so no one sees them they just dont care , and now there is 5 times the deer here than there was 20 years ago ,i went out the other night and as i drove past a couple of fields shone them up and there must of been about 80 to a 100 in one then i drove for about 5 mins put the light in another and there must of been about 150 plus i havent seen a herd like that before and ive been going round there since 1980 and now perhaps because now there are so many here that they think they can kill and leave them and then go somewhere else another night and it wont be so hot do the same and just keep going like that and the old bill cant be everywhere so it will keep going on

I had no idea you had been around that long from reading your posts i had you marked down as younger than me . . . I only knew one ian back then and you sure dont sound like him , im surprised our paths never crossed back in the day ,what was your best dog called in the 80s , what was the best dog you saw ,or heard of back then. I know the herds you are talking about i think , its always been thick with it there , but like you say theres been a big increase,

yet again , more cowboys bringing it on top for everyone else. Bbc report theyre out on quads lamping deer with dogs and leaving mutilated carcuses behind. The place is legendry for sika , but i havent run a dog there since the 80s for the very reason that its always been on top. Thank god theyre so lazy they only hit the places that are jumping with deer , but this is the single biggest problem in the lurcher world . . .cowboys

agree, cant take it home dont kill it. dont get me wrong old bill or lights leave it. but to many leaving them in the open. could atleast move it and go back ffs.

The point I am trying to really make is this is a public forum and some people are doing more harm to the forum than help it by bragging about being poachers. That is it in a nutshell. If people are not clever enough to understand that bragging about carrying out illegal activities on the web is pretty dim then they that shows there own lack of intelligence. I am not a copper and do not work for the rspca, but if by 'us' I presume you mean illegal poachers then that would be in general yes! lol! but as far as you as an individual goes I don't know because I have never met you, so don't take that too personal as you maybe a decent guy.

As far a there being something about me...well best keep that hush hush lol!

been an intrsting thread for me this i can appreciate both sides of the argument as well. Dont think these sites do us any favours either but we all still come on and enjoy them, also some one touched on books that are about these days again after reading them myself i can understand how some one new to game would be hooked instanly and go out after the big stuff and not really care what happens when the chase is over. a have a feeling things are really going to heat up the next few years with lamping with lurchers. ahh well buckle down and weather the storm a suppose
