borntoshoot 1
mum said no more animals, because i knew she would never agree to it i baught 2 ferrets off my mate at college and took them home, she said they had to stay at my nans and i got "grounded" for a week. the day they were due to be moved to my nans house she suddenyl decided she wanted them to stay at our house. go for it mate, she will either say keep it or u can always sell it on again (not condoning itin every situation but if worst comes to worst)

borntoshoot 1
Hmmm, at first my mum was really annoyed but i managed to keep her calm and she said no and i HAD to get rid of them, then i offered to clean the bathroom every week for a month. that helped. lol. you could assuming you dont/do have a job you can offer to get a part time job to pay for expenses of keeping it or if you aready have one you could offer to pay for everything and find other ways to make miney as well. watchman 256
you might want to think a bit longer on that mate, owning and working a bird is not to be taken lightly imo

Jebus 3
This is a controversial issue and personally I hope you understand the demand that a bird of prey needs. They need an awful lot of time spent with them and training them, you need to weigh them regularly and before you go out to fly them, you need to train them to fly and then come back which you will need a creonce. It is very hard work to keep a bird of prey and you need to understand the amount of work and time they take. They are also expensive. If you want my advice, it's don't bother getting one untill you get your own place and have been on plenty of falconry courses and have read alot of falconry books. I forgot to add, you will also need to find a vet that will deal with birds, this is very expensive too.
Countrykid 1
I was thinking of a harris hawk but I didn't in the end. I'll tell you why. As a teenager I would be capable of looking after ferrets dogs a gun etc; But look into birds of prey and there is soo much to get your head round. Don't fly them at the right weight you might not see them again. You can't just get one and bring it home,I think your mum would notice you building a weathering (think its thwe name) so you wouldn't get away with it. I was allowed one after showing my parents the research i did (about a months worth) Then I changed my mind, the responsibility, training and cost of them are too great. So only go ahead if you are certain you can do it and have done all the research

Jamie93 57
How can you say but it and if she don't let him keep it he can sell it on Its an animal not a doll Just keep hassling her mate and say that all you want for xmas is a bird. But realy look into it because they are a different game all togoether than keeping a couple of ferrets. Happy Hunting Jamie93

farmerkev09 105
i ant had that problem pal cos we got a bit of land but my mate has, and his mum wont let him have anything other than his 2 jills and a 9 year old lurcher it works well for an older dog but he wonted a newer upgrade so when my little bitch (21in bedlinton whippet)was pupped up 1 of my kennals was inhabited with the pup. His mum said he can bring the pup home to his when his older lurcher gives up.
