shanel82 0
Hi all i have a beagle springer cross ,great dog for flushing quarry. Had problems at the start with her she would only follow the scent for a very short distance, which was not very good when flushing foxes in large cover. I solved this by bring her lamping on cam nights ,when i would see a fox i would walk to where the fox was sitting not worring if i scared it as it was his scent i was after ,i would then let the dog hunt this fox, after a while she started to hunt on ok . Hopes this helps someone atb shane Quote Link to post

Mr P Dukes once introduced us to each other, am I correct? As Yet my Basstes arnt the best on fox, funny little dogs they are, they nearly have to have permmission to hunt something new and to be honnest I am not coming accross that many red ones where I can let them go and follow on. After adding that they did well on a Pheasant killer yesterday which should have given them a little more zest for the job. Regards Warren Quote Link to post
