Another spin with Kiera

Recommended Posts

After a bit of a false start on Monday night(ended up just coming home without running anything  )Kiera and I had another go at it last night, went to a farm that normally holds a few but had been poorish so far this year, but as there was a bit of a breeze last night thought id give it a go under half decent conditions. What a difference a bit of a breeze can make as there were a few rabbits around last night, and we were soon putting a few to bed so to speak, it was still a bit warm, and Kiera was feeling it a bit(especially after banging and cutting her elbow on a twisty rabbit)but shes nothing if not a hardy soul and we carried on, ended up getting 22 one them having more than a touch of mixie, which is not what we wanted to see  , but all in al not a bad night on a half decent spot, Kirea ran quite well last night and took some nice rabbits and offered up some nice retreives which is always a bit hit and miss with her.

Nice one fella.............jesus it gives me a touch of the green eyed monster when I see the what you boys north of watford catch on a average night :o , not like the game desert that is my part of S.E. Essex.

If you only new what we consider a good tally for 3-4 hours on the lamp, you would choke on yer bitter :11:

Keep up the good work,

Joeb, as i stated in another post :( its not always about numbers) just as long as you enjoy what you do. but it nice to run a few things when out, i have always said the lads and lasses that live in areas where game is at a shortage are the true hunters, as they go out night after night knowing they might not get much, but i bet each thing caught tastes sweeter :) .

Molly, it just depends really, i caught last nights bag in 2 fields, then went and spun some fell rabbits, and looked for some other stuff, i was out about 3 hours including traveling time, the place i was at is around 30 mile from the house, so lamping time im not sure of.

Sonny, this may take a while lol, i was feeding the bitch raw , but for some strange reason she took a reaction to the chicken,(after 3 years on it!!!!) and it realy fecked up her insides, i tried expensive dry foods, but no luck, untill i ended up on Wagg!!!, a cheap shite option, but she looks well on it and her stomach has settled down(to be honest i dont think she has ever been right since she got done after the pups) now the drawback to this is as most of you will know is she will never be in tip top condition, and will never realy reach top fitness on dried food, i saw her struggle last night, for that total and, it was obvous to me she was "running warm", as for being a cracking dog she is what she is, just an average little rabbiting dog no more no less, but we have a bit of fun together, and at this moment its all im after. Thanks for the replies.
