Some nice looking dog's there, but what a lot of glum looking folk. It look's like it was raining but at least one person could of mustered up a little smile. :)

All the best

Raining? I phoned a certain wee mustelid at about 9am (knowing he was leaving a good bit earlier than me) to ask what the weather was like down there (as I was roasty-toasty in bed looking out at a rather grey wet morning) The reply was an optimistic "Once you get about half-way down it dries up nicely" Cue Misty springing out of bed, grabbing the deerhound x, camera bag and flask o coffee and exiting stage right :censored: Never mind, a good day in the end as the sun popped out for the final B)

A deerhound breeder pics a deerhound x to win , was it worth anyone without a deerhound x turning up , did the judge breed the winner, still its a nice stamp of a dog>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I love a good old lurcher show........................ :11:

I s'pose a lurcher show is just that - a show, where the judge chooses the dog which appeals most to him/ her, the dog, which he/she looks at and thinks "That dog would suit me, the ground I hunt on and the type of quarry I hunt". As we are all aware, a lurcher is a type not a breed and can look like anything from a pure greyhound to a half melted welly, so as such, there are no breed standards (no KC to spoil them? wahay! :yahoo: ) to compare against. If the dog looks the best to the judge on the day, that's the way it goes. My wife recently entered one of my dogs in a show and was placed 3rd, according to Mrs Misty this is cos "He doesn't know anything about lurchers" I had to explain that when you enter a dog in a show, you are merely asking for the judges opinion of your dog, that's all. I don't fancy his job, as there were loads of very nice dogs there.

if bye phoning me then yes it looked as if it was going too dry up but youve got too remember i look at life through rose tinted glasses any way if you work your dogs in the rain what wrong with standing at a show and giving support too one of the best run shows in scotland
