It look's like it was raining but at least one person could of mustered up a little smile. All the best MATTI Raining? I phoned a certain wee mustelid at about 9am (knowing he was leaving a good bit earlier than me) to ask what the weather was like down there (as I was roasty-toasty in bed looking out at a rather grey wet morning) The reply was an optimistic "Once you get about half-way down it dries up nicely" Cue Misty springing out of bed, grabbing the deerhound x, camera bag and flask o coffee and exiting stage right Never mind, a good day in the end as the sun popped out for the final
CumbrianJack 2
Whos is the red terrier? Always amazes me how these working terriers stand like they were born show dogs all the time, :11: can't get mine to stay still longer than 10 seconds.
Guest Top Chalker
A deerhound breeder pics a deerhound x to win , was it worth anyone without a deerhound x turning up , did the judge breed the winner, still its a nice stamp of a dog>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I love a good old lurcher show........................ :11:
mistwalker 0
I s'pose a lurcher show is just that - a show, where the judge chooses the dog which appeals most to him/ her, the dog, which he/she looks at and thinks "That dog would suit me, the ground I hunt on and the type of quarry I hunt". As we are all aware, a lurcher is a type not a breed and can look like anything from a pure greyhound to a half melted welly, so as such, there are no breed standards (no KC to spoil them? wahay! ) to compare against. If the dog looks the best to the judge on the day, that's the way it goes. My wife recently entered one of my dogs in a show and was placed 3rd, according to Mrs Misty this is cos "He doesn't know anything about lurchers" I had to explain that when you enter a dog in a show, you are merely asking for the judges opinion of your dog, that's all. I don't fancy his job, as there were loads of very nice dogs there.
MATTI 34
In the 3rd picture down i think there look's like some dissapointed deerhoundx owner's, maybe they did'nt know that judge as well as some other's they do?
