davyt63 1,845
hi every one popped over to the business park today for a few hours. when i got there i made the call to THAMES VALLEY POLICE for a URN number then got me kit set up! i was using the AAS410K .177 today as i had a drive around there was not much about to be fair, but i stuck it out and spotted a wood pigeon in the tree 35yds away, but this was a tricky shot as there was to many branches in the way so spent a bout 20 minutes to get a clear shot,i could see it was relaxed by the way its head had sunk to its shoulders,as i just got the cross hairs on its head it strutted its neck and up came its head. thats better i said to my self, just a minor movement THWACK! it was dead! before it hit the floor. went over and picked it up,and of up to the top where i have a nice little sniping spot.so pulled up in the CRV and turned every thing off and just sat a waited,& waited, waited. a hour and 15 minutes and nothing. so i decided to go down to the sub box and have a look around there, not much down there either and decided to call it a day. as i was pulling out by the paper waste bins i clocked a bunny just sat on the kerb, so in reverse about 10 yds ignition off cross hairs locked THWACK!! and it just slumped forward on to the road, when i went to pick it up there was a pool of blood that must of been 4 inches in diameter. a nice clean head shot but haven't seen that much blood come out in a while. as i was loosing light and me roast dinner was nearly ready, i thought I'll have one more look up the top of the park,as i pulled in to me spot i see a bunny run for the hedge row,but before i could stop and turn every thing off and raise me AAS410K it was just going under the fence ,so waited another 20 minutes and it didn't show again. so gutted the bunny i had and headed of home here are some pics nice eye shot and a group photo happy hunting davy Quote Link to post
sibaldib 6
Nice shooting and a nice write up and pictures Davy. At the moment we've still got around 5 inches of snow everywhere and I haven't seen a rabbit out for three days, although I can see their tracks clearly. Also the maggies and woodies seem to be content to sit in the middle of the big wood at the back of us and not come out to play. By the way, are you using AA Fields in the S410? Cheers Sib Quote Link to post

Deker 3,478
Good going Davy, I was over my lads in Swindon today, you have had it very light on the snow compared to over my way! Apparently we are in for a load more tomorrow. Gone pretty quiet on the bunny front round here, but plenty of fox and deer about! Quote Link to post
