besty way to breast a pheasent

Hi,

Last week I used the shooting times videos on how to skin a pheasent. I used this method on one of my pheasent and it came out good. Then I tried breasting the other the way my uncle told me ( pluck aroun the breast then cut down middle and cut the breast off) But this didnt work very well. I was able to get to the breat the problem was cutting the breast off the bone.

 

I went beating today and got 2 more pheasents and theres no meat on the back legs. So I am just going to breast them. Whats the best techneque to do this?

i just do it the way you said mate by plucking the breast feathers and cutting the breast meat out, just use a sharp knife mate, i do it like that every time works for me.

seen a clip somewhere were you stand a foot on each wing grab the legs and pull bobs your auntie

Stand on the two wing joints close to where the body meat the wing, and with the pheasants head infront of you give a slow strong pull on its legs upwards, this will pull the breast away from its guys and feathers, fast and clean way of doing it, I always use it and it works 90% of the time

Cut the head off close to the crope, cut off the wings ,peel the skin around the brest and push your thumbs into the top of bird and pull the brest away from the back, then nick the tendons at the bottom of the brest easy .bannyboy
