Shave you head !! As you will be pulling your hair out soon !LOL.

Take your time ! Let a pup be a pup .

Walk to heal, sit and recall ! The most important is Recall.

Do not over tire a dog under 12 months, Do not show off with how young your dog started working, as all the rushing usually ends up with a dog that runs in works on its own and ignores it's owners shouts and whistles.

Most of all enjoy your new dog and don't be to hard on it or yourself

Let the pup be a pup, plenty of socialising, like the others have said obedience is the key, sit, stay and recall, if its a well bred spaniel the hunting instinct will come out on its own, theres plenty of books and dvds out there for good reading with plenty of tips and guides, theres also plenty of members on here who will put you right, all you have to do is ask.

Good luck mate i got my first springer 25years ago and brought it up like a terrier she was a good cover dog and flushed evrything it was only later i realised that getting them steady and a 100pct recall can be benificial so dont be in too much of an hurry to get her working.atb dell ps was she bred local mine are bred from a lad at kilnurst nr mexbourough.thumbs.gif

Is it a pup????????

If so, just play play play loads of fussing and get a sock and throw it about and just have fun with it.

For now anyway.

Get it to sit and stay all the basics.

No they are not that bad !

If you have dogs already you will be fine. Watch them with terriers though mine now makes a noise when working rabbit due to my border !

Work on obedience as the hunting and retreive come in the dog , To be steady and return when YOU say has to be taught.

It will try you but patience will be rewarded
