im sick of these idiots

Recommended Posts

Imagine going to see a pup that was clearly not as adverised, clearly cold ,underfed and very nervous. Imagine buying it anyway just to get the thing out of there . She'll will never be a top class lurcher and is certainly too gay looking to boost anyone's ego.

She's got bandy back-legs ,bad teeth , a weird mentality and to be honest is'nt very bright .

But she is mine and will stay that way !

As it happens ,four years on she's come out as a very good rabbiting dog .

Dog -chopping has always gone on but It does seem that with this instant access/short attention span mentality that seems to be growing all the time people just don't seem to be able to cope with something that cannot be measured in hours days or mega-bites and that actually requires a some caring ,thoughtfull and time-consuming input.

Imagine if it became possible to build and download the perfect lurcher from the internet. Each one customised to the individual DREAMS of the purchaser .

I certainly would'nt do it, but I'm sure plenty of folk would .

Imagine what would happen if a few months later a new programme -"Perfect Lurchers 2"- became available .

Unwanted Cyber -Dogs tied to the fence of the nearest PDSA kennels , changing hands for a few quid or being swapped for ferret finders and playstations because ,,well,, dogs are not playstations.

exactly , easily obtained & equally as easy to dispose of , very sad

Very Macho "BANG IT AND GET ANOTHER:? Trouble is 9 times out of ten these ruined dogs are not being culled there being passed from pillow to post and IMO this is abuse.

If your Macho enough to put the cur dog to sleep then go for it, but the so called hard men very often find there not as tough as they thought when it comes to culling there dog and pass the problem on, which IMO is usually a worse fete for the poor dogs.

In my experience in life i have never come across a more loyal friend than my dogs, so i repay this loyalty by showing them the same respect.

OK, lets have this right.......there is absolutely nothing macho or nice about having to cull a dog, in fact its one of the worst things anyone will have to do (so I am told)

BUT, what I will say is this, if you take a dog on then have the bollocks to see the job through rather than pass the poor fecking thing around to goons who you know will just move it on again and so on.

A lot of folk critiscise lads who cull, but them lads are kinder than all the fools who "just want their money back" or "Have to many on" etc etc

Hopefully a relationship with a dog will last a lifetime but sadly sometimes it wont, if you brought the dog up then be with it at the end is what I say.

i agree that a dog is for life, my pup is mine and allways will be, even tho im having abit of trouble getting him upto the standard i would like him to be. his recall can be non existant at times, his retrive is getttin there slowly, walking to heal seems impossible for him to grasp and can also get exited around stock somtmes i know this is down to my lack of expeirence and will admit it but i also think it has somthing to do with the saluki in his breeding but he also has his good points and that makes him the best dog in the world coz hes mine

i would rather see a dog culled then get passed from pillar to post

if my dogs do the job they stay well fed an exercised and have a nice life

if they dont do the job then they either go to a pet home usally in my family or

get culled

also there is alot of good coursing dogs hich get sold every 5 seconds and passed on do you think this is fair ?

never hear anyone say ahything about that

not all dogs make the grade and sadly it costs just as much to feed and good one then a bad one

100% right and I know what type I would rather be feeding.

If I buy a puppy and he is not up to the job I bought him for when he gets older, should I have to keep this dog for his whole life time? No! I bought him as a working dog and if he dont work what good is he to me??

And before everyone blames the owner for the dog not working right, that is the true in some cases but not all.

I definately wouldnt keep a working dog that wasnt up to his job out of sentiment, if you have a dog that is a good worker and a pet then alls well and good, but at the end of the day if you want a worker it has to beable to work to warrant keeping it, its not a pet its meant to be your worker you have to beable to differentiate between the two.

Many a good dog has been sold and bought, surely thats how people aquire them. And there are many dogs sold because of genuine reasons.

I am more concerned about the kids left out on the streets getting into trouble while their parents are too busy working, drunk or drugged up somewhere, than I am about the odd dog coming into the wrong hands.

But thats me...

Agree with Wilf and Berty1,sometimes the problem is that you are searching for a working dog that should work when it's old enough, but unbeknown to you some dog peddler has embellished and praised the lines of such and such a dog to the point

where you just want it,it turns out they are just saying what you want to hear to make a sale, now if your like me you are loyal to your dogs and if you made a choice

you would put it down to a bad choice on your part and stick with the dog, because after all it wasn't the dog's fault!Always make sure the parnets are exactly like what your looking for before buying a pup,see them work if at all possible but still don't rush to buy, when you are ready to buy you will tell yourself to commit and raise the pup that becomes YOUR RESPONSIBILTY from then on and you have no excuse for chopping and changing, christ i've had some useless dogs in my time but i've mad

e sure i will see their days out rather than being passed about and let them suffer more misery......

And here is a joke for all you dog lovers sent to me by text...

As the festive season approaches please remember that a doggie isn't just for Christmas.....It's a F***ing good position all year round!

Higgins.
