dogs in the snow and working them

Recommended Posts

Ccooneymad dog, have you been out with him in the snow yet?I would agree with some of the lads on here it might be too early for a ten month old,but then again i've done it myself and that's how you learn, plus you got enough support if there's trouble so maybe it's an opportunity for a young dog to learn whichever way, hope he turns out well.I'm out with mine tommorrow,we'll see what happens, mine is 2 1/2 yr now and i have deliberately held him back,in the past i've started them as soon as possible but i wasn't any the wiser just keen to get out with them.Nowadays i have to eat plenty of humble pie to get me through for giving advice out,Lol CHARLIE HUNTER fairplay to you for putting it straight, that's what we are all about helping one another and the young lads that need to know, atb and Merry Xmas evryone,

Higgins. :drink:

so you have 7 terriers and never worked any in the snow? how many terriers have you heard of staying to ground for a lay down because its cold!? i agree with rough coated your having a laugh if you have 6 other dogs why try a 10 month old pup thats not ready yet?! well higgins hope you like humble pie mate and fen saluki i was actually giving advice saying that terriers are worked when its cold as earths are used more but was trying to have a joke at the same time so need for comments like that son.

The Lad clearly stated "WE have severn terriers" now I dont know this lad from Adam but would you not agree that if he goes out with friends and THEY have 7 terriers between them but he is this keen to start his 10mnth old terrier then this is quite likley to be HIS only one and there is a lot of difference between US & I.Now we all live and learn and some of us are lucky to be born and bred into this wonderfull lifestyle of ours and serve an apprentiship on the spade whilst still in short trousers so to speak but some dont.Although we may know better I'm sure if you have history on the spade when you cast your mind back to entering your first pup in your own mind you were keen as mustard and would have loved to enter it before as it seeems forever if you havn't another to dig to even more so if your mates dogs are doing the biz.

I don't write posts on here to offend people (read them for yourself) and my post was not intended to offend you but when you read a reply like yours to a lad that seemed genuine to me at least, and then you read through your previous post on here which mostly seem to be having a dig at someone this is what happens.

Good job we are all different, takes all sorts to make the world go round hey son.
