snow will make "sign" in front of the earth better to read( foxes moved in but not out)during cold spells and at this time of year( breeding) the vixen will be chased to ground by the dog fox/foxes(often more than one waiting their turn)

less chance of the dogs overheating, still need watering.

during long walking check for ice between the toes(the dogs).

harsh snow( iced over) can cut the legs.

snow holds scent quite well.

you sometimes see the snow looks dirty in front of the earth, the fox often shakes the sand out of his coat upon exiting.

melted patches near the earth are often where the fox suns himself, only going to ground when disturbed.

even in cold spells the fox will lie in brambles, spinnies, hedges etc getting the sun.

hope this helps mate,

The lad said it was his first time in weather like this so there is a fair chance he's not the head terrier man on his local hunt aint it.He asked for comments and I would surggest advice on the subject so if you aint got anything constructive to say save your key tapping for one of the play school threads on here.It wont take you long to find one.

Get em buckled up and get out there after em CcooneyMadDog you'll be glad you did fella.

Happy days
