netfull 0
Evening bunny busters, Ferreted a spot on Monday that bordered a high voltage sub station (the open air type)usually working in the vacinity of electric pylons I just get a single buzz on the locater, pulsing evey few seconds or so,which I put down to high voltage interference, this I've got use to,but the substation on the other hand the locater emitts a loud continous buzz, luckily the ferret surfaced without the need to locate him which was made impossible by this buzzing, just a thought...Is the mark 3 locater any better in such cicumstances? Yes I guess I should of tried the locater first before inserting ferret, one learns! By the way,on the subject of high voltage powerlines check this out;www.Toxic junction, unstable man electrocutes himself. Regards, Netfull Quote Link to post

PETEWINN 5
Mk3 will cut out a lot more of the interference than the Mk1 but still not ideal. In these situations you need the battery hungry Mk2 finder that has a superb anti interference circuit. Try turning your Mk1 finder down to about 3 feet. You should still be able to locate then assuming the ferret isn't too deep. Edited December 18, 2009 by rabpete Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
I had a MK2 before I bought my MK3, and the MK2 was terrible for interference, even picked up fences and mobile phones, and taxi's Quote Link to post
