The Seeker 3,048
Did you see Ramsey? He went to Canada for some shite cooking programme and went fowling for Snow Geese. There were thousands and thousands of them. Strange though you cant order them in a restaurant due to their hygiene rules if you order goose you get a farmed bird so if you want to eat em (Snow Geese) you have to shoot em! .Joe 0
it was good,. Not a hope in hell that he shot it though, watching it he couldnt hit a barn door. Especially with his head off the stock like that but thats besides the point. I'd love to get out there, blinds built in to the river bed seems like quite a good idea if you can guarentee flight lines...
v-max 2
I missed it but found it on his F-word site & saw it. It was good & i like what gordon is doing for our game & venison etc to open the puplic eye. We do get very odd snow geese in scotland but we cant shoot them but we have pinkfeet geese by the thousands. Think i should email gordon & get him up here to see & try them i prsonally like the pinks/greys to eat.

We do get very odd snow geese in scotland but we cant shoot them but we have pinkfeet geese by the thousands. Think i should email gordon & get him up here to see & try them i prsonally like the pinks/greys to eat. I have seen several white geese in Scotland but never snow geese. The ones I have seen have always turned out to be albino pinkfeet. If a snow goose did turn up in Scotland it would not be illegal to shoot it. Only native birds are protected. The definition of "native" is a bit vague but is usually taken to mean species that normally occur in UK either as residents or migrants. And, of course, the W&CA then defines those birds that may be shot and the seasons and conditions under which they may be shot. Some people think that if a bird does not appear on that W&CA list, it cannot be shot - which would exclude all hybrids and vagrant species such as snow geese. Also worth mentioning that when The Seeker says, in relation to America, "Strange though you cant order them in a restaurant", exactly the same applies in UK. Over here no dead wild goose can be sold - cooked or uncooked. It's not for hygiene reasons - it's to avoid shooting for the market.

I have shot a lot of snow geese in Canada and, to eat, they are pretty well identical to pinkfeet. As a Scot, I would have thought that Gordon Ramsay would have known that. "Aren't they protected?" Said someone. "Only by feathers!" Came the reply.
