Kennels/Planning Permission

I'm thinking of building some brick built kennels for my dogs. 1 metre high, 4 metres wide and 1 metre deep approx. Does anyone know whether I need permissions to do this? Obviously i could just do it but will be starting an extension early next year so will have planning people round to check on this and don't want to build them and then have to take them down again.

I think you will need planning permission because its brick built. They might tell you to put in a planning application with payment and they will then refund you when and if they decide you dont need it.

 

If its a tempory building ie shed type thing its ok but it cant be within 2 meters of the back/side wall of your property and not over 2 meters high.

 

But why not ring the local council and ask what their limits are, I`m not sure all councils are the same thats what ours told us when we had trouble a few years back.

na mate u don need permission iv just built a 12ft by 15ft garrage but cause the doors not wide enough to put a car in its classed as a shed and theyve abollished most of the planning on small stuff anyway

you dont need planing mate as long as it is under a certen qubic meterage i dont no what it is round our area just build em thay were there when you moved in

trust me mate !!! 1 metre high is a pain in the arse when you gotta get in to clean and things. made the same mistake, spent about £1500 and knocked the feckers down and started again!!!

was thinking about doing 4 kennels 1mtr x 1mtr just for the dogs to sleep in, with 3oors on the backs for cleaning out, and a part covered mesh panelled run for each individual dog,

[/quo i built 4 kennels out of blocks each one as a sleeping quarters 5 foot by 5 and the runs are 15 foot by 5 foot the wall between the runs are about 4 or 5 blocks high with railings on top of them i got stable doors on the sleeping quarters with hole in the bottom half i got a builder to do them he said i didnt need planning permission he was right has some one grassed me up and the planning people came banging on my door had look and then a couple of months later said it was ok so if i was you ask a builder he will know more than us before you as for planning permission
