Hello all, i am in the process of completing my application form for an FAC and on the section were you need exsisting land to use the gun, i have not got any and i am finding it difficult to get some with out a rifle but it states you need it before you apply.

Is there any way around this, cheers.

Yes, it is called getting a shotgun licence  Getting land to then shoot on, then applying for your FAC six months later after you have got permission from the farmer. Job done. :boogie:

You won't get an FAC without land unless you are a member of a club.

So if i apply for a shotgun do i not need to state any land intended for its use mate, cheers.

Luke.

No, a shotgun is easier to obtain permission but you still have to justify it's use. However, for a FAC you have to actually state where and produce a signed permission letter from the landowner authorising you to shoot.

I started off with an air-rifle hunting rabbits on foot on a farm which provided me the land permission I needed to apply. The other route is to join a club, serve your term as a probationary member (usually 6 months), then they will be your justification for owning a firearm.

Easiest way is to join a Home Office approved shooting club. Once you are a full member you can apply for your own FAC as you are able to show that you have undertaken the relevant safety courses. This is also handly for demonstrating to land owners that you are safe.

See my previous post on this and give me a shout if interested.
