Young jill possibly in season

Recommended Posts

Morning people been to the vets & i think im going to get a second opinion, he said that she isnt in season ( apparently its too early) :censored: i did try to explain but he was having none of it

he said it is him showing interest( his balls have dropped )i did catch him this morning having a go at her thats why she looks swollen he says ,cost me £28 to be told this.

now this vet has treated 1 of my mates ferrets so i thought he would be clued up, i have now found another vet & see what he says, will keep you informed

regards & Merry Xmas

might sound weird.. but have you seen ferrets in season before ? if so.. then you would know what it looks like... if not perhaps capturing a good pic and posting it for more experienced ferret owners .. maybe they can give you a better idea...

id's say if a hob is giving her a hard time you'd see a bit more than some swelling if she wasn't ready for it...

thanks for your replies ,these are my first ferrets since i was young, but have got mates who have got ferrets & have seen ferrets in season & doing the buisiness, i noticed this a few days ago & mentioned it to my mate who has kept them for 20 odd years & the guy who i got them off as well has kept them for donkies years & they both agreed she looks like she is coming into season, i will stick some pics up later, regards john

sorry for the delay in posting again but have had an hectic few days, my son passed out of the army in Harrogate, & then as you know i suspected my jill was in season anyways i got my mate who has kept ferrets for 20 odd years & took her to a vets in chrolton & the vet agreed that she was in season & has now had the jab, she has seemed a little off today not her usual self, but i am told this is normal, caught me by suprise, i did try & take some pics but it is hard trying to get a shot of a ferrets rear with one hand holding ferret & another with the camera in hand & only time there was 2 of us it was too dark

, thanks again for your replies, just keep an eye on her, everything will be back to normal soon

Merry Xmas & a Happy New Year

regards john
