Young jill possibly in season

Recommended Posts

went to check on the ferrets this afternoon to find my jill looking a bit swollen & looking like she is coming in season ? have made appointment for vets in morning just to make sure,or maybe my hob is maturing & trying to get it on with her, has anyone else had a jill come into season in november ?i am keeping an eye on them overnight to see if he is having a go, checked her neck but no signs of being ragged about, will let you know what happens, any advice would be appreciated

regards & Merry Xmas

In a word. no. Had ferrets for 16yrs and never had it myself.

I know that ferrets living in false light situations / indoors can come in season at funky time, due to the seasons of the year usually dictating breeding season in animals. :big_boss:

Thats what i read anyways

Let us know how you get in at the vets mate.

no problem keeping them together better of with a bit of company be it mixed or segregated. i also have seen this before a couple of winters ago we where leaving the lights on in the shed for a few hours after dark and the jills came into season we put this down to the extension of daylight
