Guest falconeru.k01
We normally get our falcons at 10 weeks old they dont imprint at this age but mann down very fast, The male peri saker has been on static display to get used to public & was ready to fly free at 13 weeks old he is now in display team. The balloon is a fitness aid .A lure is attached to it & bird normally flys to lure 50ft first time then we increase the height slowly. It gets the bird fit quickly & Learns it to gain height & pitch. We also use it as a retrieval system if we where to loose bird by putting balloon up they normally will return. The lure is fitted to a remote control arm & when bird catches it its realesed & falcon & lure come down line to ground. We normally fly upto 1,500 ft this takes falcon around 2 weeks to achieve after this we slowly reduce the amount of time bird goes on balloon until bird goes to pitch. You need a permit to fly these over 200 ft from civil aviation authority. Quote Link to post
