Countryfile again !

Recommended Posts

If it was a piece on wildlife crime I would like to ask someone over there why they mentioned dog fighting at the beginning of the piece and showed a clip of it - that is not wildlife crime (just a crime in general, if you ask me :censored: ). I'm of the opinion that they chucked that bit in to rile and upset people and have them see all people who course or dig and vicious butchers. That was not unbiased at all. In fact, I took great offense at that sly little move.

Well there are two things coming out of this thread, firstly that although C#ntryfile showed a biased and deliberately misleading article

that the BBC do not give a toss about any of our opinions.

Secondly there seems to be the will to state our case but not the way, BASC won't do anything, CLA don't care, who else has a voice in westminster that the Slags will listen to?

so how can we voice our opinions and "perish the thought" influence future decisions that are made about us but not by us?

And there is of course the issue of the bad apples getting the rest of us a bad name by ploughing across someones fields and crops in a scooby making a terrible mess and then

threatening the farmers / keepers when they get stopped, although i have had a very interesting incident with a keeper in the past who was less than friendly while i was on permission !

All this is just speculation and conjecture, our hobby, way of life or just our enjoyment, call it what you will is being eroded faster than the shore line in norfolk

I still believe that unless we people are willing to "do an Otis" then we are well and truly Fecked, we will not stop hunting and therefore we will be, by default, the very criminals that C#ntryfile was seeking to expose.

And Higgins, if you wish to keep on trying good luck, The good lord loves a tryer, but me i like better odds !!!

many thanks to all who have posted

There is this famous pem called "first they came"

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist;

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist;

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew;

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me.

When they banned some hunting with dogs alot of other people in so called blood sports stayed quiet because it didn't hurt them but eventually they'll target the rest of dog hunting, then probably shooting will come next then maybe even fishing. But if there was more solidarity betwen all the people who enjoy thye countryside and we supported each other better this would never have happens and will never happen again. There are millions of shooters and fishermen out there, would any political party dare take on that many people? Doubt it. We fishermen and shooters should voice out support regardless if we are in to it or not because sure and hell we could be next.

Don't give up it's what they want. Gentle persuasion of people you meet, be the best ambassador for your sport and vote and complain every single time there is an attack on our fellow sportsmen.

Well the debate on the hare coursing article on country file was locked by a mod so here is the complaint i sent and the reply i received

this was the complaint i sent

>{Complaint:}

Hare coursing in the UK is now illegal, but it has a long

>history, over 100 years of organised events before the current government

>saw fit to ban it as part of their castration of the countryside.

>There is now an ellegal element that has adapted its behaviour to the

>current ban.

>They break the law and do not care how they do it.

>Only a return to legal organised events will curtail such behaviour.

>

>To represent all people who are sympathetic to coursing as thuggish law

>breakers is both ridiculous and wrong.

and this is the reply i recieved

Dear Mr Ginga John (edited of course)

Thank you for your e-mail regarding 'Countryfile' broadcast on 6 December 2009.

I understand you're unhappy with a report on hare coursing.

'Countryfile' aims to cover all issues affecting the British countryside, and this particular film was about wildlife crime. Hare coursing is currently illegal, and was presented as such. It's not for 'Countryfile' to make value judgements on what should or should not be a crime.

I appreciate you feel quite strongly about this issue and I'd like to assure you that I have registered your comments on our audience log. This is the internal report of audience feedback which we compile daily for all programme makers and commissioning executives within the BBC, and their senior management. It ensures that your points, and all other comments we receive, are circulated and considered across the BBC.

Thank you again for contacting us with your concerns.

Regards

Gemma McCartan

so there you have it, you may complain but as its now an illegal activity you will become a statistic to be ignored, lets just make out that one of the greatest traditions of the British countryside never ever existed.

F#ck the BBC, F#ck the ban on hunting with dogs, and F#ck all of those crooked bung taking fiddling self interested b*****ds who claim to represent "the people"

and to the "people" who vote for these scum, SHAME ON YOU ALL.:censored::censored::censored:

Thats the exact same (word for word) response I got to my complaint ! Lazy fuckers........ am so sick of this bullshit its untrue. Complain they ask, doesnt make any difference when you do.

Didn't realise C0untryfile were so biased until this recent episode. They are realy trying to make the good look bad and that is racist. They allways try making a certain group of people look much worse than what they are to get the public on board. Well Mr Craven you'll have to do a lot better than that to make us stop doing what we love :gunsmilie:

Happy Hunting Jamie93
