Countryfile in its own inimitable way did its bit to make Joe public aware of certain countryside crimes . Its done .

Unfortunatly Joe public may well not be able to differentiate between a guy with a stripey tee shirt and a swag-bag full of badgers and terriers and a chap working his ferrets or dogs after legal game with the full permission of the landowner .

In stead of getting all het up and angry because perhaps we should make the best of a bad job and use the opertunity to explain what we are doing to concerned ramblers and the like . If the police turn-up ,its a pain but be polite and explain the nature of the game . It could even save you getting pulled late at night if the gavvers recognise your vehicle and know that you have permission to be where you are .

Some folk will never be swayed but at least if we -the hunters -do and say the right thing we will have the moral highground .

well said, what's happened to respect? We know the public have been misinformed by such programmes but if hunters are seen as telling everyone to feck off and mind their own business this will reinforce any negative preconcieved ideas and they will believe those biased programmes,it is up to us all to try and educate the public ,or at least just be respectful of their opinions,it's how the hunters old went about their business and many a sceptic was converted to hunting that way,

Higgins.
