Uim 0
After walking through the majority of the 500 odd acres of mixed woodland and fields with a team of beaters along with half a dozen dogs i did`nt hold out much chance of a decent stalk come afternoon? We flushed plenty of Deer onto surrounding land which were all Fallow along with one single Muntjac Doe which my Terrier flushed out. We had finished by 3pm so i got kitted up and made my way to the boundary knowing full well that the only chance would be me catching the odd one wandering back onto the ground. Losing light fast and from my position i could view a great deal of ground due to the wind direction and at just after 4pm a dark coloured prickett wandered out onto the clover field. He was a good way away so i wound the mag up to 20x lying down with the gun on top of the bag i broad sided him at near on 200. He ran on 50 yards with a smashed heart and dropped 20 yards short of the woodland. Quote Link to post
Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Nice going Vim.Knowing the ground ,the deers reaction to different situations is what seperates the doers from the wishers .Many munties round you or are they pretty hit and miss ,scattered ?. Quote Link to post
FOXHUNTER 5,021
Nice one Vim but be careful I can make out a positive ID with those eyes of yours Quote Link to post
Uim 0
See those ginger eye brows foxy well there the direct result from strong Viking genes It was those that put the B0llocks in Britain, lol. Muntjac drooper there about every where in my area but you very rarely see them. If you know what your looking for the signs of them can be seen quite frequently such as dropping, hair on bramble runs and along fence lines but the biggest thing that go`s unnoticed is there hoof prints. This year which is almost over i have only seen 6 muntjac over a radius of 15 miles from my house and 4 of those were on the lamp whilst foxing. The other 2 were flushed accidentally by the dogs so i would say there scattered. I have never seen two together.. Anyway this last light stalking is a must in certain situations so keep your gear together keep organised and make sure you unload and don't forget to remove the evidence too. Cant be leaving any tell tale signs about Quote Link to post
