JackWard 0
Hi Im 15 years old and me and my dad have a decent amount of permission in our local area. Although my dad had permission on one particular piece of land for many years, we have always shot on it with shotguns. However, recently the rabbits have started re-appearing and i recently asked the farmer out of courtesy if i could go on with my airgun, he said yes and that was that. It may sound daft but, does anyone know if i attached my dads lamp onto a scope mount on my gun will i be ok to lamp on my own. I know the land very well and i am very safe and careful when doing so, but i just wondered if there was any stupid laws in place now stopping me doing this. Also, i have a bsa ultra, will the wind affect my shot much? could i travel first thing in the morning along the backroads to my permission with my gun unloaded? what pellets should i use will my hawke sport hd scope be any good, ive used it previous but wasnt to impressed? might just be me! will the lamp make my gun much heavier? does anybody else lamp with a lamp attached, or use a ultra Kind Regards Jack W Things might be so much easier if my dad would let me have a lurcher!!!!!!! fensaluki 35
You are fine lamping on your own mate as long as your carefull. No law to stop you. You can travle with your gun unloaded but make sure its in a slip. Your scope will do the job and if you can fix your dads light on top this should be fine for the sort of ranges you are talking about mate. Hopefully someone else can help you with the range of your rifle for rabbits and the best type of pellets as I only use Firearms mate and to be honest I'm not realy up to speed with air rifles and wouldn't want to lead you astray But hopes this gets you started. ATB p.s. keep trying your dad for a lurcher mate you'll both have hours of fun
Sexy_Shot 5
yeah mate i do the same with my SMK 19, ive got a lightforce light on it which ranges about 50 yrds, perfect range which sits onto the top of my scope, keep trying for a lurcher Cheers Trevor
othickman 6
Unfortunately though, you're not allowed to travel along the roads and footpaths unsupervised if you're 15; either someone over 18 has to carry it or you have to effectively be escorted there by someone over 21. So it would be illegal for you to walk there without anyone else present. BASC link. Edited December 13, 2009 by othickman
