whin 463
saw a few dogs in my time give toungue on deer in cover , quite handy in masive forestry if you got a few dogs working the cover to have one opening up, saw dogs bark in cover, but silent in the feild chaseing ,no big deal, they were beddie greyhound types good dogs to Quote Link to post

breeze 1,308
Agree with HBG, It's all about getting frustrated running game in woodland or thick cover when they are chasing but can't get there quick enough or as they are chasing keep losing sight of it's target. Some people say that with it being a young dog and will grow out of it.... I dis-agree ! ! Once a dog has done it it's alway's then in the dog and can resurface at any time. If it doesn't bother "YOU" Don't worry about it, if it does try and keep the dog out of cover for a while and see how it goes .... Good luck tho Edited December 13, 2009 by breeze Quote Link to post

bullmatt 5
just got back in from a walk in the woods with my english bull and my two 7mth old mastiffxbulldogs, walked straight into a big herd of fallow aprox 30 strong, the english bull split them and the mastiffs were off in hot pursuit, the only one who gave voice in chase was the english out of pure frustration i think,we accidentally came back across them and the chase was on again ,going back next week for another relaxing a walk i personally was releived she gave voice because i knew where they were, she dont make a noise when out in the open field on the lamp or when ferreting.
