MEIKLE 0
One of the bits of land that i'm on back's onto the beach and the hole's are all dug in sand the rabbits seem to bolt well out of them I have only had two lay up's on that land, the sand itself is not bad digging but the hole is constantly filling back in as the sides keep on giving way, all in all its not to bad better than digging clay! MEIKLE 0
The two that I had down had a rabbit trapped in a dead end I waited for about 30min and there was no sign of them which was unusual on that piece of ground as they are quiet small burrows with only about 10/15 holes and the ferret would usually appear every 10mins or so, so after no sign for 30mins I located them to 3 to 4 foot down and dug to them and 1 very alive rabbit. macker 5
as a young lad i used to do a fair bit of it. even tough i was alway told by people to keep away as they where very deep and expect alot of kills under ground deeper than the bleeper would work. but we had some great days on that beach and with ferrets that we trusted to move on and never started young ones on the land as they where large burrows even the ones with few holes where larger than usual and some times had to dig over my head but it was easy going all the way. all the best macker Quote Link to post
