The fireplace was an ornament when I moved here, hadn't been set back far enough to line up with the stack , so I had a fair bit of work to do to bridge the gap. I initially went for an open grate which was fine until I saw "Queenie" , I tried it in the hearth and thought we'd try it out. It's a bit small so have to keep an eye on the fuel, but I'll soon damp it down a bit to stay in overnight too Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Gus came here a few years back after his previous owners were uncomfortable with his "character" which can be quite menacing at times Apparently over £2k exchanged hands for him as a pup, the nice thing is, his previous owners still stay in touch and like to see his progress as he has turned into a lovely boy, I put this down to spending his first two years here with a very dominant Rottie bitch, who was the real deal and he picked up all of her wonderful nature. After we lost the Rottie, we rescued "Dai" another Shar Pei" and although another male, he has settled in here with the other dogs and lives inside with Gus and is quite happy with Gus being "in charge" Back to fireplace type stuff and your "hole" this is the 1st Xmas without a ladder or trestles in the lounge for us:laugh: Al:drink: Quote Link to post Share on other sites
