Let us all hope that current legislation stays as it is...... :victory:

Sorry to disagree mate, but dogs getting seized or vehicles isn't law it's the so called majority going against a minority and for that I don't agree

it's about time the 'law was addressed 'lawfully'.Can we perhaps get a few lawyers on board to voice an opinion on this matter, especially lawyers who are perhaps 'interested in hunting more than the law' and who could give us some constructive suggestions as to what can realistically be done,

Higgins.

All I can say is get in touch with Clive_rees as he can help in any case with dogs or the countryside, p.m me for his number or his email address as I won't put it up for anybody, just to add he hunts with some good bloodhounds:thumbs::toast:

Bearinator,i think Cive Rees is a private lawyer dealing with private cases,is he a member of this forum and could he give constructive advice on a public forum? When i posted sbout giving advice i mean't those actively posting on this forum who could join in

and represent the hunting community at the expense of their careers, just to help things regarding clarity on the law,

Higgins.

I don't know enough about the law, except in my case it's always best to avoid them as much as possible, but in this case some qualfified advice may be helpful,

i think the tories should repeal . . .and i think the tories will repeal , mainly to spite the party that brought about the ban . .such is politics. I do not however think they should put hunting front and centre during the campaign. .for one thing its not a big vote winner , (75% of people apparantly support the ban !) but mainly ,even though hunting is a very big part of my life i just dont think the subject is important enough on the scale of problems facing the next government of this country to be a major part of an election campaign . . .when i hear that the league are mobilising to make sustaining the ban a major election issue , i just think get your heads out of your asses , i want to hear the next p m say "we know we are hundreds of billions in debt and heres what we are going to do . . I know there are thousands and thousands of people losing their jobs and heres what we intend to do about it ". . Add in proper funding for the armed forces , immigration , a buckling health service , and a hundred other issues. I dont want the guy saying "vote for me flint67 and i will make sure you can kill deer with your lurchers " . . .the economy is a disaster , this is a long hard winter and we are not even half way through it and by the time we approach the election in may , who knows how much of the workforce will be affected. And the ones saying vote for us to protect hares . . .??? They will appear out of touch at best. Cameron should say he will repeal the ban and give the reasons that we all know so well , then he should campaign on the issues affecting the country. Higgins , i have asked ianb and a couple of mods if we can have a legal issues forum with legal positions spelt out (and all topics locked to prevent wrong info) but have never had an answer . . .

Well Flint67 I've got a sticky topic going and Higgins is going to try and cross post:clapper: to get the ball rolling, that is the north east and north west going, the south east are going to get lurcher, terrier AND HUNT PEOPLE in on it so what are you going to do, as for the long hard winter people will look to people with working dogs or ferrets for meat whether that be rabbit, hare or venison they will need and want it:victory:

IF the Tories repeal the Hunting Act, and there is no guarantee they will, it won't mean it will be open season for us to run hare, fox, deer, etc, with our lurchers. They are more likely to AMMEND the Act, and Fox Hunts will be licensed and monitored. Hare coursing, if it adressed at all, will also be limited to licensed clubs. I think individuals will still be banned from coursing hares. So I wouldn't pin my hopes on a complete reversal of the ban.

Cheers.
