eli 0 Posted December 14, 2009 Report Share Posted December 14, 2009 I'm just planning ahead here. If we do go ahead and get a dog, we'll get a kennel for it to stay in (during the day at least). Would you keep it out there at night as well? Alternative is the kitchen which would be locked though so not much room. During the winter would it be ok or do people bring them in when the temp drops below freezing? I appreicate people put blankets etc in them but doesn't the dog still sit on top of what ever you put down? Any advice would be appreaciated. ferreter.al 22 Posted December 14, 2009 Report Share Posted December 14, 2009 all my dogs are outside in the day.3 stop in the house at night and others are outside in kennel.dog adapts to surroundings.if it needs to produce more body head to keep warm then it will as the temp drops the dog will get use to it.mine sleeps on straw and thats it.in a breeze block building with a wooden bed filled with straw off the ground.give him decent food and they arnt cold when i go up to the kennels.hope this helps.atvb. the lamping ferreter 160 Posted December 14, 2009 Report Share Posted December 14, 2009 mine just has a rubber based carpet in the kennel and its nice and warm no need to pack it out other wise its all warm and when you go out hunting in the cold it will feel the differnce and shiver all night or day just ceep out side so it gets yoused to the elements Quote Link to post
