JohnGalway 1,043
You've answered your own question. The wiring is shit, but you won't get a better beam from a gun mounted lamp. Edited December 9, 2009 by JohnGalway Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
John has answered pretty well I'd say, nevertheless, consider VERY carefully the Deben Max Pro, a whole package, filters a plenty to choose from, more than capable to 200 yards and cheaper than the Lightforce 170! Certainly not the best build quality in the world; for some reason none of the lamping kits are, but you will not have to rewire it as often as the lightforce. Quote Link to post

irishnut 297
i've been using a lightforce 240, great light really light, had no wiring probs, and used at least 2-3 times per week. used 2 or 3 other lamps before, this has lasted longest, bulbs are cheap Quote Link to post

The build/wiring is therfore of a different design...and from what you say better than the 170 Quote Link to post
IanB 0
The lightforce range do have the best beams... Word of warning though, the switches even on the gun lamps are prone to burn out and fuse inside, I had a lance model gun mounted and if you have the beam on for an extended period they go pretty easy...
