Hi

I thought I would post a quick update on my Hancock Beardie half cross pup, he is now five months old and around 19-20ish inches high at the shoulder, hard to get an accurate measurement as he seems to think at the moment that me trying to gauge his height is a game in which his roll is to not stay still.

All in all he is doing very well in fact to be honest I’m as pleased as punch, so far he is both very biddable and fairly confident, most of the time. He does have a fairly irrational fear of walking up or down stairs but then again that is quite handy for keeping him downstairs

He’s always surprising me and others at the rate at which he learns stuff, sit, down and stay (and how to open the back door) were quite easily learnt and though there were a few frustrating moments at the start his retrieve training has gone very well. I do most of his training in a local field which is very over grown and must be about 25 acres, his favourite game is when we walk into the middle of the field, drop the dummy and then walk to its edge so that he can run back, find it and then bring it back to me. He also like retrieving from water regardless of how cold it is, tough as old books, must be the Beardie in him I suppose.

Sorry the pictures aren’t great; I must remember to take my camera out more often. At least they do show how well he blends into the background.
