Helen 2
I joined the forum as I have given up with my Deerhound, he's too big to turn fast enough, and I wanted info on which cross to buy for hunting rabbits, day time and lamping. Well after reading for several months I still have no idea and am more confused than when I joined lol. Quote Link to post
BEARINATOR 2,869
Depends what sort of the ground the dog will be running on, whippet/greyhounds, bedlington x whippets or greyhounds or collie x whippets will be ideal for running rabbits day or night Quote Link to post
Ashover rabbit dogs 76
you cant go wrong with a collie/greyhound, collie for brains and greyhound for speed. its as simple as that if you take your dog out for excersise regular it will build up stamina and harden its feet, use small regular training sessions when its a pup to teach it basic obediance and before long you'll have a good hunting companion. Don't over complicate things keep it simple. hope that's helped, i also know some good lurcher breeders who i could put you in contact with if you need. Quote Link to post
Helen 2
Thanks for the info, I dont like Border Collies, too much like hard work, does crossing them with a grey get rid of that manic have to be doing something temperament? Quote Link to post
Irish Lurcher 1,013
Great bitch for rabbits, collie/grey deer/saulk, great on the turns, brings them back alive, very easy to train, and a joy to work, ya cant go wrong with collie hound. Quote Link to post
Helen 2
Lovely dog, the last working Trial I was at a woman titled a collie lurcher. My Poodles good but I can't risk him getting hurt I've put in too much time training him. Going on the replies Whippet or Greyhound with Collie would do the trick. I'll start looking. Thanks everyone. Quote Link to post

Helen 2
I do not know what I am talking about so nobody take offence! But I really like the look of the Bullx, fantastic muscle tone and I think stunning dogs. I have noticed a few disagreements on here re bullx, why, have they got temperament problems.
