chrissy32 13
Never tried Orthovox, but have used my Bellman and flint with a pack of hounds every Saturday and Sunday for last two years and never given trouble once. No tape nothing required and battery lasts forever. Good luck :clapper: b&f every time like your man above says top bit of kit atb chris Quote Link to post

charliehunter100 22
f**k me people paying over £300 for a locating kit is wrong in my opinion what happens if it fails?? when i was digging regular many years ago i used to have an old grey knocker box and ferret collor taped on to normal dog collar and used this just as a rough guide to where the dog was and then went by the dog after. if the dog worked silently it was handy (the collar) but i prefered a bayer who would stay and bay all day if needed so you could find it that way. does no one use t bars nowadays? i think all this new stuff is no use at all compared to a good sounding dog after all we never used it when i was 20 odd so why is it the way now?? a terrier that just locked on was useless in my day but now this seems to be the way forward with new technolagy but like i said what would lads with no experience of digging with out a £300 pound set up do if it failed and there dog was locked on in a big place?? i no the laws mean you have to be in and out alot quicker but to me a id always prefer a bayer to a hard dog but maybe im just old fashioned! matulkoh 66
B&F probably i was the first person here to have something else than BF, it s now nearly 4 years, i tried several top kits, spoke to bf and pieps, ortovox, mammut.... Bryan was only open minded person who was interested and got a lot of question, he decided to bring alternavive to the market. i started with Mammut BarryoxOpto 3000, never let me down, than Pieps DSP same box as BF good kit, all kind of boxes from Orthovox all of them did thier job, All y lads have to realize one thing, this boxes were not find for DOGs, they are for rescuing people, Orthovox came with small transmitter for hunters to use it for earth dogs. than guys from BF came with the good business proposal find BF brand which are buying boxes from Pieps and now collars from Mammut better from company who s doing this job from them. If y asking for the best kit than any collar, for me orthovox or mammut/new bf and Mammut BarryvoxPulse Box or Orthovox S1 these two boxes are the best boxes to buy, the won all the tests. both companies can calibrate y boxes for y collars, but i dont think is neccessary. Pulse never let me down and i m here working on big game which is deeper, in bigger sets, hardly located for dogs. Quote Link to post
