Lerk 0
As per title, having introduced him to shooting my mate is looking to apply for his SGC but is struggling to think of a suitable referee... I am a multi-skilled engineer with formal training, I hold an SGC, am a homeowner and AFAIK am a well rounded (well actually very well ROUNDed! lol) individual. I am however not a member of an engineering institute etc. Would I be able to sign his SGC as a referee? I've told him to keep thinking of someone else, but at the moment his main choice is unwilling to sign as she is anti-guns. I'm willing to vouch for him, but would hate for his application to be rejected due to me not being an acceptable referee! Any ideas folks? Quote Link to post

dave1372 83
As the others have said, yes you should be fine to act as a referee, you are deemed to be a responsible person of decent character if you already have a SGC. Good luck to your mate. Quote Link to post
events co-ordinator 353
The fact that you are aware of gun safety and security is a bonus they will ask you about this from your mates standpoint and also his drink habits etc ATB Quote Link to post
elvolcan 0
Someone with an SGC/FAC will be a perfect referee. Quote Link to post

Hi Lerk, your friend will recieve a list of typical people who qualify as referees, included on this lis is ENGINEER (QUALIFIED) so as long as you can produce evidence of your engineering qualifications you should be fine.Rgds Gerald.
