Another cracking weekend for the HARDCORE HUNTERS

well as you all know i took a trip to see Davy and Chaz at the weekend

 

got to Davy's around 4 ish and he already had dinner in the oven (proper little housewife)

 

took the guns out of the car and a quick trip round to chaz's to drop of his new toy Falcon Lighthunter

 

so after that back to davys for some grub then get ready for a trip to the bussiness park

 

me with my AAS510 and davy with the 410

 

when we got there drove upto the top but did not see anything so then off to the sniping spot and as we pulled in a clocked the 1st target making a run for it but he did not stop for my lead

 

sat there about 20mins and another popped out but ran straight out of sight so time for a drive

making our way down to the bottom of the park

 

davy went round the back of the building and i went to the balancing pond when i got the seen 2 in the distance but they was off as soon as the lamp came on

but not to worry off we go up to the paddock davy took the left and me right just as i started to move i spotted 1 about 40 yards away so i aimed and bloody missed DOH!!!! so carried on but there was nothing else in there davy had a couple of shots also but with no THWACK so we ended up leaving empty handed

 

Follwing morning early moning pick up 6am by chaz 1st call McD's for some breaky

 

then off to stanford house and what a nice piece of permission it was too

as we drove in spotted a couple out in the distance but when we had the guns out and ready they had gone

 

so we had a drive round but seen nothing so davy went for a walk while chaz and me sat up in the truck by the warren sat there maybe 30 mins but nothing showed so decided to have a walk

 

after a bit of a walk we spotted 1 but when we tried to stalk it it ran then we spotted davy so met up with him me and davy went off into the wooded area and chaz went off to snipe 1 of the warrens sat in there for a good hour davy had a shot at a bunny but missed in the excitement and i had a shot at a crow above me but hit the branch DOH!!!!

 

so it was time for a cuppa and a zero check

 

so out goes the spinner at 35yds and a couple of mags later every shot hiting the 10mm spinner that will do nicely

 

so 1 up to davy with his squizzer

 

then it was off to another permission where davy pulled off a cracking 43yd headsot

 

few maggies about but cud not tempt them with the rabbits guts we left at around 2 for a bite to eat then chaz picked us up again an hour later and off to some drive round permission on some grazing fields they have.

 

so we got set up and off we go only 10 mins in and davy spotted the 1st victim very nice head shot then was my turn another nice head shot and then davy again and then me again we stayed for a couple of hours and finished with 2 a piece chaz was having more fun drivin his hilux than shootin good man chaz

then off for a kebab on the way home

 

early start again on sunday morning 6:30 pick up and off ta moonlight valley chaz went off to 1 of the warrens and me and davy set off towards the valley but on the way had a stalk on seen a couple at 80yds so the stalk was on we got within range but they spoted us and ran so we sat up and straight away 2 came out but clocked us so time to move into the valley.

 

we sat there and had a cig and worked out where we was gonna set up so davy to the left and me to the right

 

after about 15mins the 1st 1 showed on my side just got the crosshair on his eye and he went back down the hole he'll be back and after about 15 mins he was this time i was ready crosshair on and WACK down he goes lights out for this 1 while lying there i must off seen about 8 to the right of me but cud not get round quick enough to get them so after collect the 1 from earlier we had a bite to eat then i moved position

 

after about 10 mins out popped the 1st 1 aiemed fired but damn i hit a stinger so off he went back in his hole about an hour passed and nothing else showed and that was time to call it a day

 

so 5hrs in moonlight valley and 1 in the bag because davy missed his LoL

Good write up Rob, I've also been to Stanford house and moonlight valley, both very nice perms. Sounds like you all had a reat time, Davy is a top bloke and so so helpful

 

Hopefully catch up soon, maybe over Christmas!

u lads crack me up, only just getting into the hunting game but its such a good crack aint it. wish we had some more decent perms up our way, to many snobby farmers who think your going to shoot there sheep (as if mate, really).
