ferretville 69
Yesterday was hard work on the rabbits to be honest we needed more hands and eyes and ferrets on this stretch but we gave it a go and will be done on a later date. Started here doing it in sections 6 ferrets were entered and with these setts being vast and deep it took a while before we got any action. The ferrets were covering alot of ground in there pursuit of bugs but the little trojans that they are evetually stsarted to locate and get them bolting . The ground here has so many bloody holes in it that i don`t know how the ground has`nt collapsed . Well i did fall through it a few times fecking me gammy leg . Slowly we were making our way along laying out longnets and purse nets . I give credit to the ferts they were sticking to the job and on setts of this scale bugs was going to come out top  but you win some you lose sum so we were`nt beatin ourselves to much as we knew it was a big job . The weather was bloody mad to sunny one minute then chilly gusts and sleat like rain The tyne was flowing well About half 2 we called it a day knackerd , bruised , but havin enjoyed ourselves which is what its all about gettin out there and giving it a go. Like i said we knew it would be tough but nowt like a bit challenge aye . Finished off with a hard earned 19 clean healthy rabbits The last pic before we headed home A challenging day on the rabbits in good company heres to more FV Quote Link to post

Brimmer 220
Nice one FV. Those big warrens are tough going for the ferrets, the bunnys give them the run around with so many tunnels to get through. Bet the netting up took ages, nice read and photo's. Quote Link to post

ferretville 69
Nice one FV. Those big warrens are tough going for the ferrets, the bunnys give them the run around with so many tunnels to get through. Bet the netting up took ages, nice read and photo's. To be honest B if we`d had the exra hands we would of netted up the whole sett long nets all around it and splitting it into smaller sections with purse nets dropped here and there . Starting at 1 end slowly flushing them down the warren . This is the way we do the other big setts and to be honest its not that bad setting up . Like you say big setts have hundreds of tunnels and lay ups and the older wiser rabbits know there way around them 2 lol. NIce going mate!! Just giz a holla if you need a hand..... me n wor kid are always eager to get out n about Darryl Its not my permission darryl its me mates Quote Link to post

Downunder_Sthn_Ferreter 16
Job well done, Now i know why, Bunny's have extra long ears & why they place barbed wire every 6 inches... Makes for the perfect earring/piercing for bunny's at the end of the day Cheers, Shaun Edited December 9, 2009 by Downunder_Sthn_Ferreter Quote Link to post
