If ,(sorry ) when the hunting ban is over turned (2011 i would predict)coursing will probably not be legalised unless licenced, the redcoats(sounds like billy butlins)will be allowed as it is an industry being affected by the ban and affects the equestrian side of society which carrie,s many votes. The likes of john craven and his countryfile crew will be popping there heads up pretty often ,same as the papers, all about the amount of rural crime ,poaching theft of machinery etc,i wonder if this has to do with the fact NEW LABOUR are on the run from the conservatives and trying to gather public sympathy(Again)using the rural scene.

I'll try but I need help. If anyone will share the responsibility let's crack on. Doubt we'll be able to sort anything out before christmas though.

Probably mate. I'd help where i can ( but aint got the first clue where to start) time, date place etc would need be essential to the success. I think January would be a good time, gives time to get organised and put the word out. Now what would be best week or weekend? During the week would cause most distrupt i.e media coverage and public display but the weekend would allow more support due to work etc ( only being a small march i think it would need al lthe support it could get)

I think the best best bet with small marches would to have a few scattered around the country. One because alot of people wouldnt be willing to travel miles for such a small scale march and 2 because it would cause maximum coverage with least resources and appear very organised ( taking place same day/time etc) So for instance, saturday at 12pm, one in manchester, one in london, one in leeds. Or along those lines you get the picture. Just an idea.

Hope you can get the ballrolling mushroom, it needs to happen. If everybody keeps saying "when" the tories get back in, when will never come and even if it does, as already said its likely to be subject to licencing. Which is even more infringement of rights that the outright ban, which could of been the political agenda all along?

Just my 2 pence worth

Fight the ban :boxing:

Done my complaint....

I think another march would be a great idea, but best to wait until AFTER the election, as we could see the REPEAL of the hunting act if the conservative party gain power.... if they dont live up to their promises, then we should ALL... MARCH MARCH MARCH MARCH!!!!!!

just to add as far as i am aware chasing hares with a dog is still legal if using a gate net.

am i right or wrong ?

By the way... James, no your wrong im affraid... its only legal if flushing to a gun!

I don't beleive one march will be enough, and certainly the numbers may not be enough for them to take notice.

There needs to be several marches, every year, timed to conflict with elections and other important dates which usually require our votes, also the numbers is very important, you would need a significant number of people to represent the hunting community,so maybe an organised 'lawful protest' is in order, but it must be done properly, gatherig the required numbers first, then organising the marches, who will lead this protest,i don't know........but sooner or later someone will have to step up,

Higgins.

I agree higgins. Everything you have said is correct. But you have to start somewhere and there is no way any thl member is going to get huge numbers without the support of so called country sports organisations to help with promos, funding and contacts etc. So what options are left? Do nothing or make the best of the little you have, and hope for a snow ball effect for the NEXT march until note is taken. Doing nothing is a sure way to achieve nothing ...
