fac arrived

Recommended Posts

just got in for lunch and there she was sitting on the door mat all crisp and new :notworthy: it was quite quick once everything was sorted out.

get christmas out the way, then off to theoben to bankrupt myself :whistling: .

has anyone on here got a fac rapid, i`m thinking no fuss just get mk11 but they seem to do a few types now but based on the same gun, any advice would be great, also can you vary the power yourself on them or does the factory set it at what you want when you buy, and lastly what would you say is the best power to go to as i`ve heard that to much over 30 ftlbs can affect accuracy, is this true? as on there site it says they go up to 40 ftlbs in .22 ?.

thanks again for any advice.

hi mate 30ftlb is more then enough. once you start going over that you will use more air = less shots per charge and the setp up in power wont really benfit you that much.

have a look for a secondhand one on the shooting forums. air gun bbs has a good amount sometimes. you will get more for your money. soon as you buy new you lose aload of the price right away. fac air isnt as popular on resale prices.

as most people that step up to fac just get rimfires. dotn forget your need a 300 bar bottle to. because if yo uget a hi power rapid the fill presure is something like 240 bar so a 232 bar isnt going to give you full shot count.

a 12 ltr 300 bar is what you need

you could adjust it yourself but you need a crono to make sure you get it set up right

hi trapperman

i have had a mark1 rapid for about 17yrs or so, it is a great gun, I have a good friend and hunting buddy who is into air rifles in a big way he has had about 10 theobens over the past number of years including .25 rapids , vanquish and many others, he has recently traded all of the theoben guns in as the service he received was terrible. Many of our local dealers refuse to stock theoben rifles now due to the poor service from the factory. you should take this into consideration before buying , i have had only a few problems with mine over the years mainly valves in buddy bottles but i have never had to deal with theoben personally.

I think at the start of PCP theoben where leaders and competition was limited, that is not the case today, have a good look around and see what suits.

this is true there are lots out there, i was mainly worried about shot count recharging etc, to the point that i have been and still am (a little) thinking that maybe the theoben eliminator could be a choice for me its heavy i know but i am used to shooting my hw90 i think its the same weight as this.

the simplicity of just slinging the gun on your shoulder and a pocketfull of pellets does attract me somewhat and about 30 ftlbs

but i to had a rapid mk1 standard limit many years ago and loved it.

i am a little uncertain of what to go for now but i`m in no rush will wait till new year
