kieran121 3
im a 16 year old and my mates 18 and we are looking to get some permission and ive been told because of our age most farmers think it would be risky having us on their land. Any tips on how we could show that we are honest tidy boys who just want to lamp and not two trouble making youngsters lookin to clown around. Atb Kieran. Quote Link to post

pigeon640 0
IMO you have to win the farmers trust so show willing to help any farmer when you can and don't expect payment join your local young farmers club get your face in the door by asking if he/she has any odd jobs needing doing put your self out for them and they will in turn help you i know this as my dad was and is a retired farmer who had 650 acres of hill ground and he is a untrusting burger of a man this said if you show willing to help you are in the door kirky Quote Link to post

CountryHOG 0
You have to keep trying, the problem with landowners is that there are too many pratts and i could use stronger terms for them like Conor.k from the 'wild west of Belfast'. Dont follow his advice at all, god only will be able to guide his offspring the right way in this world as clearly he wont. Get out there offer help on the farm, try some beating on nearby shoots. its worked for some young lads i know and it worked for me not too long ago. it means getting dirty and you may even get some money for it. Dont do anything illegal, well not what the farmer would worry about anyway and you never know. Always Always say please follow others advice and go smart minus the dogs/guns/rods and always say thanks and always leave a letter with your name address and try elsewhere in the meantime. The problem you face are the ones that set the bad example and wreck it for all. CountryHog Quote Link to post
