ginge2k6 0
Just this week the butcher gave me a bag off faty offcuts for about a quid, it was originally for the ferrets but the dog loves it and after feeding it for a few day he looks great, my question is is this alright to feed on its own or should i add something to it. thanks. Rainmaker 7
Fresh (raw) fat is a great addition/supplement to a working animal's diet. It certainly won't do any harm and in fact has a lot of benefits as an energy source. Fat yields twice as many calories (available energy) as does protein or carbohydrate. Make sure it's only an ADDITION to the diet though; don't make it the focus, more like an additional treat.
