Redleg22 2
At the East of Scotland Wildfowling Club's meeting today, it was announced that the club had recruited its 100th member - Nigel McMullan from Montrose. Not bad in less than a year.
mj robson 8
Biggest in Scotland now! Very well done.
v-max 2
Very nice & well done i was looking into it but to pricie for me. Your 100th guy opperates as one of the biggest goose guides in montrose area & has upset a few locals hence you can join the montrose wildfowling club tomorrow if you wanted. A club like that should have new members waitting on a member to die to get in but they struggle to keep fowlers. Its such a pitty as its club with MASSIVE POTENTUAL & some fantastic fowling they/we locals dont know how lucky we are to have this for now.
edenman 0
i was always lead to believe that the montrose wildfowling club was a closed shop with no chance of getting in it
troutnabout 0
whats too pricey for you v-max? ESAWC? Have a look at the prices on www.scottish-wildfowling.org.uk You have to pay a joining fee, but the rest is not expensive to be part of the biggest club in scotland! mj robson 8
V-Max i was looking into it but to pricie for me In their first 10 months ESAWC has ran the following events for its membership, 1, Clay shoot including "big bore" flush and BBQ. 2, Familliarisation visit to Montrose Basin. 3, Summer fly fishing outing. 4, Gundog day with BBQ. 5, Summer Sea fishing outing. 6, Young Shots driven game day. 7, A stand at Cardross Game fair. 8, A raffle for a 250 bird driven day. 9, An online auction for many sporting opportunities. All this plus a new club lease where you can go for the chance to flight thousands of geese!!!! All this for a one off joining fee of £20 plus an annual club subscription which equals that of a private membership to BASC. How can that ever be too pricy??? Cheers, Mark. v-max 2
i was always lead to believe that the montrose wildfowling club was a closed shop with no chance of getting in it Far from it they are looking for new members every year & most of the members are from england as associate members. They keep them selfs to them selfs with very little club events BBQ etc. Redleg22 2
I think that to become a Full Member of Montrose WA you have to live within a set distance of The Steeple. They do have other categories for farther away. Of course you can belong to several clubs and you can reclaim all the duplicate BASC memberships. With the maximum reclaim, then someone already belonging to a club like Montrose will only pay another £12 a year to be a member of ESAWC. (and, as has already been said, anyone on Job Seekers Allowance gets that BASC element of the subscription at a much reduced price).
