zini 1,939
Hi all, I went out for a couple of hours with Dylan my 9 year old son and Zini the Patterdale terrier today. .177 calibre Vostok Russian springer a bit on the permission and I wanted to walk the terrier and let him bush some rabbits to keep him happy and keen. After a long walk with the terrier and a session with the boy plinking at cans and bits of rubbish at 10 metres because that’s his max range at the moment we decided to have a drive around the permission and see what was about. I got out the Weihrauch HW100KT from the boot and set up my video camera as usual. I have decided to make a new DVD for next year which will be finished by next September I hope. This DVD is going to be called Extreme Air Rifle Hunting and will consist of 60 minutes of action packed hunting footage. Anyway off we drive and the first customer at Zini’s 16 grain FX lead shop was a wood pigeon sat feeding at about 25 metres. I give it a guestimated .5 mil dot hold under and let the second stage slip. (wallop) the woody went down. On retrieval I noted that the pigeon had been shot straight through the brain box. Number 2 was a collard dove sat at 30 metres, This one was a simple shot with the cross hair placed on the doves right hand side of its body, knowing that the 16 grain pellet would drill through and hit the birds heart and lungs. I let the second stage slip and down went the dove. Number 3 was my favourite on a squizzer sat at the bottom of a tree eating a nut. He was sat at about 25 metres. Same again I give him .5 a mil dot hold under and let the lead fly. (wallop) and he went down again. On inspection the squizzer had been shot straight through the brain. The last shot was yet again at another squizzer trying to chew the bark on the bottom of a tree. He had no idea that I was watching him and that the cross hair was on his brain. (wallop) and he went over stone dead. It’s at this point that Dylan opened my car door to get out and pick up the squizzer. He opened the door a bit too wide and the terrier got out first and grabbed the squizzer running off with it. When I managed to get the squizzer off the terrier it was missing a head. Sorry that squizzer is not on the photo. Not a bad start for the new DVD. Zini. Quote Link to post
