Today i saw the cygnets up the lake fly for the first time , i managed to get 3 pics of the young cob flying & landing, what a sight, i reccon it wont be long before the cob drives them on to the big lake

 

I have watched these pair grow up from tiny balls of fluff into beautifull swans , theres sill a little of the grey feathering on there underside but there almost fully grown i would say

 

Will have to look out for some more cygnets in the spring to follow there progress

great pics kay :victory: the one in the bottom three pics looks like it has fishing line or something comeing from its beak

It was just the vegetation they eat , it had dropped off by the time it came for some bread :thumbs:

No it was vegetation they eat . it had gone by the time it got over to the place i was chucking some bread

hey kay, keep your eyea out for the ring numbers, if they're not rung yet they soon will be, then you'll know if it;s the same signets next year.

 

They havent had the rings on them yet , i have got the pens number which is on a yellow tag but the cobs got a metal tag on his leg & i havent been able to read the numbers on it yet
