Marksman & Festas latest lamping session......

Recommended Posts

Hi guys....

Well what can I say, wor kid and myself braved the elements last night/this morning to see what we could develop. :hunter:

We left at approx 0010 and headed up to the permission getting there for around 0100.

Rifles & lamps checked, suited and booted we headed out on to what we thought was going to be a disastrous night due to the weather.... Yes...we did check the weather before we went, but hey....theyre hardly ever right are they!! :hmm:

So....with horizontal rain and 15-20mph right to left gusting winds it made things very difficult...... scanning a railway embankment from a nominal 35 yards the bunnies started to show.... Myself taking 2 :toast: and wor kid 1 in the first planned session. We headed off back to the van at 0300 for a cuppa and some grub, :snack: and not a moment too soon as the wind died and the heavens truly opened. It lasted for 2 hours solid!!! :( Just after 0500 the rain stopped and the wind wasn't blowing as hard so back out we went. I accounted for another 2 and work kid managed another one before the lamps died and we headed back to the van.

Most of the shots were taken on average aiming 3 mildots right and half a mildot holdover to produce these big b***ers....... 85% were clinical headshots as you can probably make out in the photos although there were 2 heart/lung shots by wor kid, dropped due to the conditions.

The plan was to continue ferreting once dawn broke but wor kid had another episode with a fence, jarring his back so we decided to pack up and head for home.

Pity about the weather but all in all a good night.

I cant believe that Gary let the PCP beat his springer for once. He must be slipping :tongue2:

Keep up the good work mate.

Nice shooting guys, considering the conditions. What was the springer used?

I guess you travelled there in the Tardis to get back to December 2008! :D:D:D:D

Cheers

Well done for being the only one to spot the deliberate mistake mate!

Sadly you only win the satisfaction of spotting it :)
