paulk73 151
just depends if you want a springer or a p.c.p. imo. a top quality springer, thats light weight and also light on the pocket is the hw 99s. its a no frills full power light weight hunting machine that wont let you down. i had 1 for a good few years. it was so acurate. out of all the air rifles iv owned that is the 1 i regret getting shot of most. if you fancy a pre charged rifle on the cheap that will do everything, iv just got a bsa ultra s/h. for 180 quid like brand new not a mark on it. and dont be put off thiking it wont do for those long range bunnys cos of the short barrel thinking it wont be accurate enough at range, cos the optimum length of a pcp barrel is only 10 inches. its all down to your in dividual marksmanship after youve bought the rifle. but if your on a budget you wont go wrong with either. if you go for the ultra the first thing i would do is lose the silencer, and invest in a hw one. about 40 notes if i remember rightly. youl never put the bsa one back on again . hope this is of some help mate im off down the plots now to try for a rat or 2 Quote Link to post

paulk73 151
had a quick walk round the plots but some dodgy characters knocking about, best to leave em to it. anyway what id do is contact your local gun shop , explain what your after and then leave your number with em. that way they can contact you if owt comes in second hand. failing that, you could try maybe a gamo or an edgar bros.they would get you off the mark, but its like owt else mate, u get [bANNED TEXT] u pay for im afraid Quote Link to post

Thanks. I think i'm popping down to my local gun shop (a secure metal cabin at a country store ) when I start my holidays.I would go on saturday but I have beating Maybe I will stick with my gun at the moment, pointless saving up for ages for a really good gun and not being able to use it as well as it deserves. Hopefully when I go I can afford a Silencer, maybe a gun sling or bi-pod. But thanks for your help Also,if I went shooting on neighbouring farms do you think i'd get paid (like pest control),as it would help me save up for better stuff for my gun. And as my nan is a farmer there is lots of farmland nearby, and quite a few rabbits I think. I have also been offered some shooting but it's too late now.will have to do it next year D: Quote Link to post
paulk73 151
to be honest i doubt if youll get paid. if you gain more permission, just be glad that you managed to get it, cos permission in some places can be really really hard to come by. so take the use of the land offered, as your payment, do your best for the land owner, always tell him/her how youve got on, how many rats/rabbits. and if you do get a few bunnys always offer afew to tne land owner and who knows Quote Link to post
