Guest bluemink
anything with half collie isn't going to be hare dog, may catch the odd one. but either putting a whippet or a greyhound to her could produce a good rabbit dog. does she work? Quote Link to post
sambam 8
iv thought about having a collie for running if lurchers get too on top mabey a 3/4 collie 1/4 grey so it has abit more speed but looks nothing like a lurcher then you could walk anyware without getting hassle from pricks with a problem with lurchers i think i read on here that a collie was used for lamping and was good, Quote Link to post
Big bald beautiful 1,231
wouldnt use whippet blood, first cross collie whippets are cloddy unless your very lucky. extra height of the greyhound would be a better idea Quote Link to post
Malt 379
What about putting a Whippet/grey over her? This dog's dam was a big old working hill collie, he sire was a 3/4 grey 1/4 whippet. She stood about 23" TTS. Unfortunately she got ran over at about 12 months old when some kid opened a garden gate to pet her, but she was developing really nicely. Had a fair lick of pace on her too.
