south wales help anybody

Hi

I got two 6 month old Lurcher pups. Any ideas on good places to go lamping around here. I live near Caerphilly about 8 miles from Cardiff? any help appreciated for a beginner.

Go out and have a look!

Haven't been able to get them out on the lamp as yet. One of the pups had an accident on a walk, Farmers gate fell on her tail and had to have part of it amputated. It's been a bit of a bugger to heal and cost fortunes in vets fees. Got fed up of vet so started dressing the wound myself and its healing well now. Did a bit of studying and it turns out the the vet was dressing the wound too tightly which wasn't helping the healing process. She's a bit of a muncher as well and was biting the tip of the tail. I've had to resort to covering tail in some foam pipe insulation with some 2" plastic pipe over the end and then heavily strapped to try and stop her getting at the end of the tail but shes a clever sod. Getting there slowly mind. She's a brute of a dog, not quite 6 months yet and already over 23" TTS. The other one, her litter sister, is 21" TTS and a beaut as well. Gonna have some fun with this pair.

wat breed are they would be nice to get some pics up of them?? because they r 6 months ur better off doin things with them like going out in the night and showing them the lamp to get them following the lamp, as thats the last thing u want is to take them out when theyr older an see a rabbit an theyr lookin the complete opposite way haha, if u can find someone around ur area with an older lurcher an ask them to go out for one night with u so the 2 pups can watch the other dog an sooner or later they will know that at the end of the lamp there is something to run on. :)

Yes my brother in law has got an older lurcher and I will take them out with him soon, once the tail has healed properly. Their 4 parts Greyhound, 2 parts Bull, 1 part Whippet and 1 part Saluki. The bigger dog is bonkers, the bull and Saluki coming out there I think lol, but I luv her she's gonna be a good one. The other is very much like a greyhound laid back and quiet, but both very rapid. Yes I will take some pics and put them up.

Both look similar to that dog next to your posts. Is that your mutt?

thats allright butt, its just that hes not into it in a big way and doesnt go out much, I've been out to a few places with him but lets say the bunnies dont show up too much lol. So I am looking to try somewhere where I may have a bit of success. Which golf course is that? there are a few around here.

only my opinion but think there to young

I agree but I want them to go out with an older dog as suggested earlier and let them observe. Or do you think they are too young yet.

How far away are you from maesycwmmer? If you can make it to maesycwmmer then maybe ill give you a night out

I'm about 15-20 minutes away and would love to take you up on the offer, very kind of you. My dog needs to recover from her tail wound first, so I'll keep in touch through this board - thanks.
