Newbie to snaring...HELP!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi, im new to all of this. I decided to take up a hobby in snaring rabbits i have a massive wild field at the back of my house so i have made some snares with some garden wire and attached them to openings of dens and small area's where i assume the rabbits are coming in and out of. I have had one snare gone missing so i assume i have had something snag it and ran off with it around it neck or whatever. i have always been interested in catching rabbits. I have emailed woodga about some proper snares as i dont have any but i have had no reply as yet. Could i possibly buy some of someone??? I will also take some pics of my snares to let you all correct me in where i am going wrong... all of you will pee yourself laughing when you see what i have made LOL.

if you think were all pee ourselves at your snares, then you yourself are admitting they are not upto the job, on ANY FORM of hunting, respect for the quarry should be at the top of your list, so I'd advise you to remove all your snares, until such a time that you can learn a bit about snaring

placing snares "where you think animals may be"

does fieldcraft not come into it, if a rabbit is using a run/hole in fence it will leave signs,

right i will say it so nobody else has to.

READ THE PINNED ARTICLES BY GLENN WATERS ABOUT RABBIT SNARING, THIS GUY IS AN ABSOLUTE PRO!

READ IT ABOUT 5 TIMES AND REMEMBER IT OFF BY HEART, AND LIKE STUBBBY SAYS REMOVE THOSE THINGS YOU HAVE MADE UNTIL YOU GAIN SOME KNOWLEDGE.

right, now you should be fine. good luck
