inan 841
Im not nit picking or trying to cause trouble here mate but i dissagree with just about all of your post..Ive been out with them cheap car shop one's/blue eye's/nightblasters and other none brand make's aswell as riggy up's and to date well for the past 9yr's the clulite has been the dog's bollox's compared to all what ive seen and used.. I was introduced to the 170 striker some years ago now and i agree the build quallity is not too good but they have a mean fecking beam but the down side to it is theye kill the battery to quick. On the pre ban bit i have had a hell of a lot of hare as fox and other gear using a clulite.. ..and have brought every pup i have owned up using one to good standard's.. Millet Ive only used 2 lamos a blue eye which didnt impress me and a Cluson lazer light which i still use ive been very happy with it and find the little travelling light useful at gated etc the only thing Im going toalter is to change to a belt pack,Im in Kent and lots of lads down here like the lite force, particularly for the quarry they run, each to his own really. MickC 1,825
Thnaks Ian and Millet I like the clulite but the new one doesn't seem to have the power of the old one, maybe i'll try adjusting it. thanks Simon If you go on the Cluson site you can order a replacement reflector and the 100 watt bulb to change your lamp up to a Blaser lite. You will also have to change the smaller secondary bulb as well as the Blaser lite has a 2 pin push in bulb fitted in the reflector but on the standard Clulite it has a bayonet fixing.I changed mine a few months back and its been fine. Guest oldskool
to mick c yep,, thats the way to do it!!! and the cost is roughly about £20 Edited September 15, 2006 by oldskool Quote Link to post
IanB 0
Its basically the same as what you can do with a lightforce by rotating the beam to achive a flood or tighter spot, apart from you have to dismantle the lamp and adjust the beam manually by adjusting its position with two screws... majorskennels 0
.... millet, when you undo the screws at the bottom of the base what do you do to adjust the beam??? il have a look at it tomorrow!! It's easy mate just undo the 2 screws at the base of the reflector and with the lamp switched on just pull the bulb holder in and out till you get the best beam to suit you.. When doing it though try not to put too much pressure on the outer lip of the reflector as it is flexible and bend's giving you a distorted beam.. Millet spot on millet, you;v just saved mine from classifieds,I made a cawl out of a plastic plant pot to tighten the beam.never new you could adjust it? Quote Link to post
Guest oldskool
cheers for that millet,, i learn somethin new everyday Quote Link to post
chartpolski 23,067
I'm just starting my pup on the lamp, and being a tight arse I scrounged a clulite of Longdogrunner and connected it to a new 12v 7 ah battery, used it the first time the other night, perfect for what I want, good beam and lasted for as long as I was out. Cheers. Quote Link to post
dickyboy 1
i use the clusion and maybe it was just set up right but my dog don't lose the rabbit in the beam, he loses them to those holes in the ground but i don't think a different lamp will help that..... i can see the clusion being to small for preban deer and fox never lamped hare so don't know but i can't see much when he's the other side of a field on the run..... ..although he caught a couple last night along way off..........i'll ask him what he reckons :11: To say Cheerrs millet i might give that ago if he starts lamping longer slips...........does the tighter beam make it longer?? blando 0
so if the bulb is set back more does that make it tighter ? my lamps in my mates truck so dont want to be sat there for hours messing about with it befoure we go lamping and it ends up being worse. Quote Link to post

john horgan 0
hi mate i use a lightforce 170 with a 12v 7 ah battery shoulder pack ,only thing i changed is the bulb from standard 100watt to a 50 watt i get a average 4 hours lamping is all i need to have a good do out ,theres a lot of cheaper lamps about but nothing beats lightforce for beam quality Pie, just wonderin when you put the 50 watt bulb into your lamp do you lose much light.. the 170 is a bit heavy on batterie alright but if there was still plenty light i would chance a 50 watt bulb alright.. thanks.. jpt 284
I got myself a lamp at the Midland show on saturday and I have been out with it twice. Cracking bit of kit although I think I am going to need a filter already because they are catching on quickly. I went for the Lazerlite 1,000,000 candle 7v battery set up which cost me £90. Hope I catch something now! JPT Quote Link to post
